Which Lawn Mower Best Suit Your Needs

With the use of a lawn mower, gardening has never been easier. But with the different kinds that are available in the market today, how would you know which type best addresses your needs? Of course, you have to consider how reliable, durable and efficient these mowers are. These are the important factors to look for because not all mowers offer the same features and the same level of performance.

There are different varieties of lawn mowers designed to meet a particular purpose. All vary in shape, size and price. What you need to do is decide which one is most suitable for the size and shape of your lawn. The two types are cylinder or reel mowers and rotary mowers. Their difference lies in the blades designed for each type. The blades of a cylinder or reel mower rotate horizontally while the blades of a rotary mower do so vertically.

One important factor to consider is the size of the lot. Knowing how small or how large the lawn to be mowed is allows you to know which variety of lawn mower to use. If you maintain a residential area or a garden, you may use push mowers. They don't have motors but if you prefer to have one, choose the small modern gasoline-powered walk-behind mower. Of course, that will be more costly compared to the former. Gasoline-powered mowers may be powerful and can cover a lot of ground but they also create pollution and need to be maintained periodically.

Another mower to consider is the electric mower. Electric mowers can be corded or cordless. Their advantages are in being easier and safer to operate and in producing less noise. However, using a corded electric mower would limit you in terms of the area that you can cover. Also, if you accidentally mow the power cable, the mower will malfunction and put the user at risk of receiving an electric shock. On the other hand, using a cordless mower won't present you with such problems, but you need to have more back-up rechargeable batteries. Note that the run time power depends on the batteries.
